For each consumer, it is of great importance how long the washing machine they purchased is durable. Of course, the service life that manufacturers promise depends on very many indicators.

If you believe statistics, the average service life of an automatic machine is 7 - 10 years. But what do the standards say about it and what are the requirements for this category of products?

With this question, let's turn to State Standard 8051-83. It states that On average, a household washing machine will last from 12 to 15 years. Often the longevity of the machine is measured in the hours it is able to work. In GOST, this figure is 700.

Often unscrupulous manufacturers specifically indicate underestimated service life, so that people at least once every 5-6 years to change their washing machines, which affects their revenues well. The service life of the machine directly depends on the quality of the components, not where it was assembled.

In any case, all manufacturers and repair shops agree that the service life is determined by the hours the machine can operate. Miele promises 10,000 hours of operation for its products, which is much higher than the state requirements.

There is an opinion that the service life of the washing machine is directly dependent on the manufacturer. One can argue for a long time on this subject, but in practice the objective view is the opinion of professionals - repair shops, or rather those who are directly involved in the repair.

They can tell you which brands are the most rare in their work. Based on their words was made rating durability of washing machines:

• The first place of the rating is occupied by German manufacturers. The service life with a proper method of operation reaches 30 years. For example, the company Miele. Of course, the cost of such units for most is simply unaffordable, but, and the percentage of appeals to the service is extremely low.
• The Swedish and Austrian machines are not far behind. Electrolux and AEG. They are able to last for 20 years.
• Korean and Italian specialists occupy the honorable third place. Their brands Samsung, LG, Indesit, Ardo last for 8 years.
• And at the end of the list Chinese, Russian and Turkish manufacturers. Washing machines Beko, Samsung, Candy, Zanussi, Vestel work up to 5 years and that with original components.

Of course, the service life is greatly influenced by the conditions in which the machine is used.

• Excessive water hardness puts the heating element out of operation.
• It happens that small things that you forgot to take out of your pockets fall into the drum of the machine. This inevitably leads to repairs. And, of course, reduces the period of use.
• Power surges are another cause of failure of washing machines. If you neglect to install protection against such surprises or simply do not install the grounding, then count on the operating time according to GOST is not worth it.

In order that the life of your machine is not reduced due to external factors, you need to perform simple actions:

• Do not overload the washing machine with work and do not allow 24-hour washing. Take breaks.
• Choose a quality laundry detergent.
• Don't forget to check the contents of the pockets of the items you load.
• Install filters on the water to ensure proper hardness.
• Monitor the weight of the laundry you load.
