Washing machine with a sink

In many apartments of typical buildings there are difficulties with free space in the bathroom. In such situations, the installation of the washing machine is quite difficult, and we have to look for a satisfying option. One of them can be called the combination of a machine and a sink.

Options for combining a machine and a sink differ in the parameters of the washing machine. The machine in these sets can be narrow and have a standard height, or it can be of medium width but less height. The sink for any of these variants of machines is selected taking into account the width of the technique (the width of the machine must be less than the width of the sink).

• The main difference between the combined with the sink machine is the location of the spigot, through which water is collected in the machine, as well as the drain hose. Usually they are placed at the back or, more rarely, at the side.
• In all machines with a sink on top, the loading of laundry is only frontal. Most often, the capacity of such devices is 3-4 kg of laundry.

For installation over the washing machine, we purchase a sink of the "jug" type. The differences of such a pendant sink are the drainage system located in the back and a smaller depth (often it is 18-20 centimeters). According to the form of such "lily" can be rectangular, semicircular or square. Less common are models with a non-standard shape. Some sinks may have a small countertop on the side.

• Buying such a set is cheaper than buying a washing machine separately from the sink.

If you are going to buy a set that includes a washing machine and a sink, follow these guidelines:

• For greater ease of use, the top edge of the sink should not be higher than 80 cm from the floor.
• The washing machine should not be more than 46 centimeters deep.
• The drain system of the sink should extend beyond the washing machine.
• Your washing machine must be fitted with a special siphon.

Remember that the washing machine must be installed on a level surface. If the floor in the bathroom is not flat, achieve the correct position of the machine by adjusting the feet or installing a rubber mat.
