Main malfunctions

Evaluating the experience of many owners of Samsung washing machines over the years of operation of such equipment, the most frequent malfunctions have been identified:

  1. Failure of the heating element. Most often it is caused by impurities from tap water settling on the heating element.
  2. Damage of the drive belt. The failure is manifested by an uneven rotation of the drum, deterioration of washing quality and a strong knocking sound during operation. In this case, the function of water drainage and water intake is also disturbed, so the washing cycle is interrupted.
  3. Failure of the water intake device. Usually manifested by the appearance of the leak and refers to a fairly common problem with Samsung machines.
  4. Wear and tear of the bearings. Such a problem can be judged by the appearance of hum and knocking during the washing. To fix the machine often requires calling a specialist.
  5. Failure of the spigots. This type of failure is usually caused by poor-quality rubber or the spread of fungus. The consequence of this problem will be the appearance of rust on the body of the machine.

Tips and prevention of breakdowns

Keeping your Samsung washing machine clean will improve its performance, extend its life, and avoid minor malfunctions:

  • Use a soft cloth to clean the outside of the machine, and cleaners should be non-abrasive. Try to avoid getting water on the outside of the machine.
  • To clean the detergent compartment, remove it by pushing the lever inside the compartment. Rinse the compartment under the tap and use an old toothbrush to clean the compartment recess.
  • Every two months, clean the waste filter by first draining water from the emergency drain tube. Remember that you must first unplug the machine to perform the emergency drain. Using a wrench or coin, open the filter cover and remove the drain tube by pulling it slightly forward. When you remove the plug, the water will flow out into the container. Then remove the debris filter and clean it. Then put the plug back in place, attach the tube to the hook and close the cover.
  • At least once a year, clean the strainer, which is located in the water supply hose. To do this, disconnect the machine from the water supply, disconnect the hose from the back of the machine, covering it with a cloth. Using pliers, take out the strainer and rinse it under water, not forgetting to clean the screw connection. After putting the filter back, connect the hose to the machine and after checking that the connections are secure, turn on the water supply.
  • If you need to store the machine for a long time without using it, be sure to drain the water from all internal elements and hoses, and unplug the machine. It is better to leave the door open during storage.

Basic preventive measures are universal and suitable for all brands of washing machines. Watch the Ukrainian program "Everything will be good", which explains the basic steps to take care of your assistant.
