The washing machine for villas

Many city dwellers still prefer to rest in the countryside to popular foreign resorts. And they are quite understandable, because in addition to the minimum financial cost, country life has many other advantages. In addition, modern dacha residents have all the benefits of civilization - now no one will be surprised by a TV set, water heater or computer with a modem in the village house.

However, there are still achievements of technology, which is very difficult to use in the country house, for example, washing machine. If the dacha house is equipped with modern plumbing and sewage, the connection of the unit will not be difficult. But if the cottage has only "summer" water, but you will have to look for other solutions.

A great solution if there is no plumbing
Fortunately, the manufacturers of washing machines have not ignored the dacha residents, because they constitute a significant category of the population of our country. If you have a more or less stable supply of electricity at your dacha and there is an opportunity to drain the water, then you will easily be able to choose a device that will work properly in dacha conditions.
For the normal functioning of such machines do not need a centralized water supply, it is enough that the water comes into the house from a well. However, you can carry water for laundry and in buckets, as our not so distant ancestors did.

Factors and requirements
Two main factors influence the choice of a washing machine for use in the country, the first of which is the presence or absence of a centralized water supply. If it is connected to the house, then in the choice of a machine for washing you are practically unlimited. Otherwise, the number of options under consideration is reduced by several times.
The second factor is what requirements you have for the unit. If you live at the cottage for a long time and a large family, it means that you will wash as often as in a city apartment. It follows that the washing machine should have a full set of functions. If you go to the cottage only occasionally, then you will be satisfied with the most primitive machine.

Usually there are several standard requirements for a cottage washing machine:
- Small size - so that the machine was easy to transport;
- Not very high power - so as not to overload the dacha electrical wiring;
- low power consumption - not to overpay for electricity on vacation;
- low water consumption - especially important if you have to pour water into the tank yourself.

Types
Washing machines that are suitable for use in the cottage, are divided into two groups. Let's consider each of these varieties in more detail, study their advantages and disadvantages. Having this useful information, it will be easier for you to make a choice in favor of one or another option.
Automatic
Automatic washing machines are also called drum machines, because they are equipped with a rotating drum. In order for such a device to work properly, it is necessary to ensure adequate pressure in the water pipes, and this is only possible if the house is connected to the centralized water supply. However, an alternative to the central water supply can be a reservoir of water, which is located at a certain height, due to which the desired level of pressure is created.

Most city apartments are equipped with automatic washing machines. They are convenient because they perform the whole cycle of the washing, including water heating, rinsing and spinning. You need only load the laundry, pour the powder, run the washing program, and at the end of it, pull out the clean and fresh laundry from the drum.
Activator
Semi-automatic or activator washing machine - this is a close relative of those devices, on which our mothers had to wash clothes. It does not have a drum, but is equipped with a rotating finned disc, stirring the water and detergent and kneading the laundry. To connect such a machine needs only an electrical outlet, and the water in the tank must be filled independently - through a hose or, in the old fashioned way, with buckets.

The set of functions of such a machine is limited to washing and automatic shutdown. It is necessary to spin the clothes by yourself or using a special device, reminiscent of a mechanical press. Among the advantages of such washing machines should be noted the low cost, small size, low power and water consumption.
With a water tank for dacha
Incredibly convenient device, which provides the comfort of country life, is a washing machine equipped with a water tank. Such a device is still considered a novelty, but you can be sure that soon the cottagers will appreciate this type of washing machines.

Such units are equipped with a water tank, which can be built-in or attachable. They can be connected to the water supply, but can also work independently, because the water from the tank comes under pressure. Such machines form an independent system, as they do not require either plumbing or sewage (water is drained into a separate container).
The water tank is quite capacious, it is designed for several washings. However, you need to ensure that the water does not stagnate, otherwise the laundry will be stale even after washing. Such machines are very economical to consume water, since they independently determine the required amount of water for washing.

For cottages with a wringer
The spin function in washing machines is certainly a useful thing, and in city life you can not do without it. However, and living in the country, many of us would not refuse such conveniences. But if for a city apartment it is better to choose devices with a high spin class, then, choosing a machine for country houses, it is possible to save money on this parameter.

It's very simple: living in the city, we seek to minimize the time for household chores, so it is important for us to dry laundry as quickly as possible (largely for the reason that there is simply no place to hang it). In the cottage, we have a lot of free time, so the laundry after washing can easily dry for a couple of days in the sun - a place in the countryside for this can be found without problems.
Mini
If you are not used to spending a lot of time at the cottage, and you visit there only a couple of times during the summer, to get a full-fledged washing machine for dacha just makes no sense. However, to take dirty clothes home for washing is not very desirable. Here to help will be miniature washing machines, designed specifically for such cases.
Washing machines "Malyutka" - are a product of domestic production. They have very small dimensions and a tank capacity of about 20 liters. This will be quite enough to quickly wash a few small things. But bedding, jackets and other large items will still have to be taken to the city to wash.

Do all models have heating?
Water heating is a very important feature, and all modern washing machines are equipped with it. With semi-automatic units, the case is more complicated: most models are deprived of this useful function. However, there are several manufacturers that produce activator washing machines, capable of heating water.
Water is heated at the initial stage of washing, and then the desired temperature is maintained. Washing in warm water is certainly more effective, which is especially relevant at the cottage, since there we often have to wash working, over-soiled clothes.

Prices
As you can see from the previous section of our article, the prices of washing machines that are suitable for use in the country can vary significantly. The difference between the simplest and the most "smart" model is more than ten thousand rubles.
The cost of the device will depend on many factors, among which:
- reliability of the manufacturer;
- control type (automatic or semi-automatic)
- dimensions;
- tank capacity;
- the presence of spin and water heating;
- availability of additional functions;
- washing class;
- power consumption class;
- availability of a water tank, etc.

How to connect?
- If there is no sewage system in the dacha, it is necessary to provide a pit into which the water will be drained. The depth of the drain pit should be at least 150 cm. At the same time, make sure that the dirty, soapy water does not harm the dacha plants.
- If the house is not connected to the water supply, the water tank can greatly facilitate your life. Its function can be a suitable volume of plastic or metal tank installed in the yard or in the attic.
- It is better if the water tank is located as high above the ground as possible (ideally it should be 10 meters high) - in this case, the pressure required for a normal water supply to the washing machine will be ensured.
Here are two ideas for the use of a washing machine in dacha conditions. See the following videos.
Tips
- At the store, tell the salesman that you are choosing a machine for the countryside. He will offer you compact models with a vertical load, capable of working without plumbing and drainage. Such units are much cheaper than conventional automatic washing machines.
- Do not overpay for unnecessary features: this is a parameter on which you can and should save. For example, a washing machine for country houses should not be able to wash delicate fabrics or dry laundry. After all, mostly we wash there simple clothes from undemanding materials, which may well dry in the fresh air.
- For the dacha are not suitable washing machines with the highest indicators: the highest class of washing and spinning is good for a city apartment, but in the dacha, where there are often power outages and network overloads, it is better to use devices that do not load the wiring so much.
