Types

With heating (electric with a water heater)

Such a washbasin is a modern and very convenient to use option. Thanks to the presence of a heating element, you get warm water in the dacha at any time. It is often chosen for installation inside the dacha house, especially if the washbasin will be used in autumn and winter. The average volume of the cistern in such washbasins is 15-20 liters. It is most often plastic or metal.

Without heating

Washbasins of this type are installed on the street and used in hot summer weather, when under the sun's rays the water in the tank heats itself.

Outdoor on a stand

Such a washbasin is a water tank, attached to a metal stand. To install this version of a dacha washbasin is very simple - a foot presses the steel bar at the bottom of the stand, and then its horns enter the soil. As a result, you can choose for such a model a place in any area of the garden plot, even among the beds of potatoes and raspberry bushes. The reservoir of such a basin usually holds 8-15 liters of water.

With a pedestal

This is a version of a very solid dacha washbasin, which in addition to the sink and water tank has a special cabinet. Completion of dacha washbasins with a nightstand can be very diverse. Some models have a mirror, others have hooks for towels. Such a washbasin can have both the simplest faucet only for cold water, and a mixer (if it is planned to connect the product to the water supply).

You can install such a sink anywhere in the cottage, but it is preferable a place under the roof, so that the furniture is less affected by changes in temperature and humidity, as well as sunlight. This type of sink is often chosen for installation on the veranda or inside the cottage. If the model is oversized, it can stand outside in the summer season, and when the warm days are over, it is moved indoors.

Without a pedestal

This is the simplest model of washbasin, as it is only a plastic barrel-shaped container for water, which has a pressed spout. The device is suspended from a board driven into the ground, or on the wall, and a bucket is installed under it, where the dirty water will flow down.

Pour water into the tank to manually, and when its stock will be exhausted, will have to pour water into the container again. Such a tank can be round or rectangular, and instead of a pressure spout there may be a valve valve. The tank holds an average of 10-15 liters of water.

Despite the presence of a pedestal, the washstand is easy to move. Inside the bollard put a bucket, which collects used water. Since the model provides a sink, it is convenient to wash your hands, dishes and fruit in such a washstand.

From plastic bottles

This kind of dacha washbasin can be made yourself by cutting off the bottom of a large bottle and connecting it to an arch or a tree. Pouring water into such a bottle, you can slightly open the lid or make a hole in it to get a stream of water under which you can wash your hands.

For the garden and cottage

Such washbasins are outdoor devices that are not connected to either water or sewage. All such designs have a tank in which water is stored. Install such a sink in any corner of the garden or garden plot. The choice of garden and dacha sinks is very diverse - from the simplest hanging models, made by your own hands, to the chic development of designers.

Stainless steel or plastic?

It is these two materials that are most often used for the manufacture of a dacha washbasin. The choice can be based on your personal wishes, but take into account that the product of stainless steel is more durable and reliable. In addition, in the event that a washbasin made of plastic accidentally falls, the probability of its damage is much higher than if the device made of stainless steel falls.

Where and at what height to install?

First of all, you should decide whether you want to install a washbasin in a summer house or put it outside. Outside the house, it is easier to install such plumbing, since you do not need to connect the washbasin to the water supply and take care of the drain into the sewer.

However, if you plan to stay at the cottage and in cold weather, it is worth thinking about installing a washbasin inside the house. A compromise could be to buy a sink that can be kept outside in the summertime, and as soon as it gets colder, to move the device inside the house.

If your washbasin provides for a sink, the most convenient location will be the height within 83-90 cm from the ground level.

How to make your own hands: the easiest ways

If none of the options of a ready-made washbasin suited you, or if you want to make something of your own, you can quite cope with such a task on your own. The simplest type of dacha washbasin can be a suspended plastic bottle, which we mentioned above.

On the same principle, you can also use other handy containers that are often found in the countryside - plastic or metal canisters, barrels, canisters, buckets. Once you have chosen a place for the homemade sink, make a hole in the selected container. On both sides of the hole attach the rubber gaskets, install the faucet, and then tighten it with the nuts.

Do not forget about the diversion of water. If you do not want to put under the basin vessel, which will collect water or take the drain into the cesspool, just pour enough gravel in place to install the basin, through which the water will go into the soil.

You can also get a modern and practical model of a dacha washbasin if you follow this plan:

  1. Buy a special water tank as well as plumbing fittings.
  2. Select a sink with the right size and design in mind.
  3. Buy the materials you will use to make the frame to connect the tank and sink. Most often the frame is made of metal or wood. If you plan to make a basin with a pedestal, you can adapt an old table or dresser for it.
  4. Buy the materials you need to bring water to the washbasin, as well as the sewer connection.
  5. Put everything together and you have a homemade, but high-quality dacha washbasin.
