Adjusting and tuning of the gas water heater

To repair any gas equipment, it is important to comply with special safety rules, so it is better to entrust such work to professionals. However, it is possible to handle the proper adjustment of gas boilers yourself.

Modern speakers are sold in a wide range, but the features of their adjustment will be similar in different models. We'll take a look at adjusting an electric-ignited speaker, on the panel of which you'll see two scales and two knobs. One scale with divisions and one of the knobs is used to adjust the water supply, and the second scale and the other knob is used to adjust the gas supply.

You need to adjust the speaker's operation after purchasing and installing the equipment so that the unit's performance and gas flow rate for heating water are optimal for the particular model. In addition, the adjustment is carried out in situations where previously set settings go astray, for example, if the technique was handled carelessly.

Start the work on the adjustment of the gas water heater should be exactly with the regulation of water flow. The nominal head, which you want to achieve, is specified in the data sheet of the heater. If you have lost such documentation, you can look up the necessary data on the manufacturer's website.

For example, in the speaker model you purchased, the capacity should be 11 liters per minute. To set this value, you need to open one hot water tap, then set the knob on the body of the device in the required position, then close the tap.

To prepare the gas circuit for operation, set the gas regulator on the body of the appliance at the minimum setting. After connecting the equipment to the network or inserting batteries into the speaker, you can open the tap on the gas pipe. Then, after opening the tap with hot water the device will turn on automatically and start heating water.

To continue the setting, take instruments capable of measuring the water temperature. Your goal is to set the gas regulator knob in the position where the temperature of hot water flowing from the faucet will be 25ºC higher than the temperature of water coming into the water heater from the mains. Remember that the gas equipment does not heat water instantly, so you should wait a little to measure the water temperature.

Then you can change the temperature of the hot water coming from the tap only with the knob, which changes the water pressure. If you decrease the head, the water will move slower inside the speaker, and accordingly, it will heat up more.
