Power supply for a gas water heater

Power supply for the gas water heater

One of the common nowadays options for ignition of gas columns is electric. In this case, the unit often runs on batteries, which regularly have to be replaced. If the owner of the speaker does not want to take the time to replace batteries or spend money on batteries, there is an alternative in the form of a power supply.

Purpose

Using a power supply can replace the batteries in gas water heaters with an automatic ignition type.

How to connect?

If you purchased a pre-packaged unit for the heater, first remove the battery compartment from the heater by snapping it into your hand. Next, connect the terminals of the purchased unit to the terminals that were connected to the battery box. Do not forget to consider the polarity of the terminals. Then the unit is plugged in and the speaker can be used as intended.

How to make your own hands?

Having bought a standard power supply for 3-5V, you can remake it for use in a gas water heater, but for this you should also prepare:

  • Two "dad" type terminals.
  • Duct tape or heat shrink tubing.
  • A soldering iron.
  • A stabilizer (if your unit has more than 3V).
  • A wire (if you need to extend it).

After cutting off the block plug and, if necessary, adding a stabilizer, you need to solder "dad" terminals to the wires (a separate terminal for each wire), because the wires, previously connected to the battery container, already have two "mom" terminals. After matching the polarity of the terminals to each other, wrap them up with heat shrink or electrical tape.
