Steam generator for shower

Installing a shower enclosure in the bathroom has become a popular solution in modern design. With its many advantages, there is also a disadvantage. For many, this disadvantage becomes decisive when choosing between a bath and a shower cabin. The cabin will not allow to create the conditions in which you can warm up well. But shower manufacturers have caught this trend and presented to our attention a steam generator for shower cabins.

Modern cabins are equipped with such a built-in generator, but unfortunately, it immediately affects the price.

The design
Any steam generator includes a control unit and a housing that contains a water tank, a pump and the water heating element itself. With such an abundance of filling elements, the housing of a household steam generator does not take much space, unlike its industrial counterparts. On the outside there are taps for water inlet and outlet. The control unit helps to change the temperature mode, control the flow of water and steam.

Types
It is possible to make a shower like a sauna. And the cost looks much more interesting than that of a ready-made cabin with a built-in such gadget. You need only buy a steam generator with the smallest list of functions. Now there are units that differ in the way water is heated and steam is produced.
- Electrode steam generators. Water is heated with the help of electrodes. When current flows, the water is converted into steam. Scale does not appear on the electrodes, therefore they do not burn. Undoubtedly a big plus is that the price tag is the lowest among the steam generators.
- Tee steam generators. They produce steam with special heating elements. Such generators can run on distilled water, which allows a new round of using the remaining condensate. But this advantage is outweighed by a number of disadvantages - the complexity of design and, as a consequence, a higher price.
- Induction steam generators. As the name becomes clear, the heating is due to electromagnetic induction. Their great advantage is that they do not have consumable elements, such as electrodes or heating elements.

Tips for choosing
Generally, steam generators are powered by electricity. Their main difference will be only the way of converting water into steam.
Before you make a choice, firstly, look at the amount of energy it consumes. Secondly, on its power. It is also important to pay attention to its functions.
- A very important characteristic will be the water pressure in the water supply. The higher this figure, the higher the volume of steam that will be supplied. A pressure of 2 to 10 Atm is considered normal.
- Of particular importance is the material from which the body of the steam generator is made. It is preferable if it will be stainless steel. Because it is not afraid of corrosion and it is very durable. Although it is heavy.
- The higher power - the faster the water will be heated, but the higher will be the consumption of electricity.
Neither plastic nor aluminum can compete with stainless steel, because the former can not cope with high temperatures and emit toxic substances, while aluminum can oxidize and deform.

A steam generator that is too powerful can be financially unprofitable. Experts recommend selecting a power of 1.5 to 6 kW.

Wiring and installation diagram
It should be noted that experts do not recommend installing the steam generator directly next to the booth. It is located separately, and the cabin is connected only a pipe for steam.
But the maximum distance from the shower to the installation site of the generator - 10 meters! If mounted on the wall, the height must be at least 0.5 meters. If the device is placed on the wall, it is mounted on self-tapping screws.
Then, using a metal hose, we connect the ball valve to the water supply. The steam line to the generator is connected with a copper pipe. And already with a plastic pipe we make a connection to the sewage system.
Only after these manipulations are completed is electricity connected to the generator.

Control
The control unit is used to communicate with the steam generator. Switching on, off, setting the mode of operation - all these functions are set from the control panel. Professionals recommend placing it next to the generator.
The temperature mode is changed by the regulator. This operation can be carried out both before switching on the device and during operation.
The installation and adjustment have been completed successfully. This is evidenced by the appearance of steam when you turn on and vice versa after you turn off the steam disappears. Now you can enjoy the sauna directly in the shower. Enjoy the steam!

Once the temperature is set and the generator is automatically filled with water for a few minutes you can wait for the steam to start.
