Handmade bath mat out of stones

Homemade bath mats made from river stones, most often have many drawbacks:
- The stones are too smoothly polished, which makes the mat dangerous and slippery when wet;
- hot glue was used for the mat, which cannot withstand prolonged use;
- no place for excess water to run off.
Make a mat according to our instructions, it is devoid of these disadvantages.

Materials
You will need:
- Rubber floor mat - with holes or holes for water drainage.
- Smooth stones from the beach - make sure they are porous, not slippery. The number depends on the size of the mat. Stones can be found near the river, the sea, or at your local handyman store.
- Waterproof silicone sealant - As you need something that can resist and trap water.
- Polyethylene protective sheeting or an old shower curtain.
The front of your chosen mat has a raised pattern, so it's best to flip it over to work with the smooth side.

Step-by-step instructions
Work on plastic protective sheeting or an old shower curtain.
Procedure:
- Arrange your rocks on the mat, making sure there are enough of them. The work is a lot like putting a puzzle together, so be patient! Place the largest stones over the holes in the mat. Water will still be able to run off, but the holes will not be visible.
- Once you have placed all the stones, go to one of the corners, take a pebble, squeeze a drop of silicone sealant onto the back of the stone and place it back on the mat.
- Press and hold it down for a few seconds, then repeat the same steps with the remaining stones.
- The instructions for the sealer say that it cures after 3 hours, but it's best to wait 24 hours before moving the mat around and starting to use it.
This is a great way to add oneness with nature to your bathroom design. You'll be reminded of your favorite trips to the beach when you look at the mat!

Great! Needed just the idea of having extra water dripping down to the floor)
