How to turn on and off the boiler?

The design of water heaters is quite simple and usually with their switching on, as well as with the off no difficulties arise. However, if the boiler is installed as a redundant source of warm water, its irregular use leads to the fact that some features of the order of turning on such equipment and the nuances regarding the shutdown can be forgotten.

If the apartment or house has a centralized supply of hot water, the first action should be to shut off the faucet by which the hot water is supplied to the dwelling. This should be done even if there is a check valve on the pipe.

Next, proceed as follows:

1. Open any faucet, then make sure the rest of the water flows out of the system, and then close the faucet.
2. Open the faucet on the pipe that enters the boiler and brings cold water into the machine (this faucet is often marked with a blue circle).
3. Open the faucet on the pipe coming out of the boiler, through which the cooked water comes out (this faucet is usually marked with a red circle).
4. Wait until all the air that was in the boiler has been blown out (the water jet should be even).
5. Close the hot water tap.
6. Turn on the device in the network and select the optimal mode of its operation.

Once you have turned on the water heater and it began to heat water, it is important to check whether the device works properly, even if it has protection systems:

• When you press the "mains" button on the boiler, the indicator light should light up, confirming the start of voltage to the parts of the device (to the heating element).
• Look at the initial temperature value in the appliance and remember it.
• After 15-20 minutes look at the boiler again and determine whether the temperature data has changed (whether the water is heated).

Most often turned on empty water heater Gorenje, Thermex, Ariston or any other manufacturer will stop functioning due to the burnout of the heating element. The temperature sensor when you turn on an unfilled water heater shows the temperature in the room (for example, +20 º C), as a result of which the automatic shutdown does not work. Note that such a breakdown cannot be eliminated under warranty.

Turning off the boiler is practically the same way as turning on the device, but in the reverse order:

• First, the device is disconnected from the mains.
• Then shut off the tap on the pipe through which the hot water comes out of the boiler.
• After that, close the tap of cold water supply to the equipment.
• Next, open the tap on the pipe through which hot water enters the home from the centralized network.
• It is not recommended to drain the water from the heater.
